From The Forge: New Rivals, New Rhythms, and October in Motion

October is settling into a rhythm at Reforged: weekly traditions, fresh tournament formats, and different communities finding reasons to share the same room. Last week moved from founders and young professionals to D&D tables, Mario Kart, anime, and the first Suffer Well Monday. That range is not accidental. It is the point.

Last Week at Reforged

Thursday, October 1 brought Throwback Thursday alongside the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals gathering from 5:30–7:00 p.m. The group had an awesome time, while two separate D&D campaigns were unfolding in the lounge that same evening. Local professionals connecting, adventurers rolling dice, and people enjoying games and specials all shared the same space.

Saturday's Mario Kart World tournament brought a modest turnout, with guests from a birthday party joining the racing as well. Congratulations to our prize winners, Jonah and Alex K.! David Barker also jumped into the competition, but RGL team members are not eligible for prizes.

One of our community members also celebrated his 12th birthday with us on Saturday, joined by five of his closest buddies and his mom for gaming, pizza, and donuts. Those afternoons belong in the recap just as much as the tournaments: a place to celebrate, spend time with your people, and make some memories.

Sunday brought a decent turnout for Brunchyroll, with brunch, anime, and time together with our community members who love sharing their passion about anime almost as much as their love for Brunch Crunch Milk Shakes ;)

Monday launched Suffer Well Monday, our weekly night built with food-and-beverage workers in mind. A few people came out to check it out, giving us a solid start even though the promotion barely got out in time. With more time to spread the word, we are looking forward to building on that next week. Everyone receives a half-price Monday Game Pass. Verified F&B workers also receive $2 off entrées and $1 off alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, excluding sides and refills. A pay stub, workplace name tag, or comparable proof works. The goal is to give people who work through everyone else's weekends an affordable night to relax, reconnect, and game their stressors away together.

A Full Weekend of D&D

D&D was a constant presence at Reforged this week. Thursday hosted two separate campaigns, Friday brought an additional two separate groups, Saturday welcomed another group, and Sunday had a table adventuring from approximately 1–5 p.m. That is six D&D group sessions across four consecutive days.

Friday's all-femme D&D gathering welcomed approximately eight adventurers, giving us exactly the kind of turnout we hoped to see. Across the weekend, different groups kept their own stories moving while sharing the lounge with the rest of the community.

These tables are a big part of what makes Reforged a nexus. Alongside the PCs, consoles, tournaments, and events, people have a place to return to their campaigns, build friendships, and spend real time together. There is a lot of D&D happening here, and we want to give those groups more space in From The Forge as we collect their photos and highlights.

Around the Community

Last Wednesday's Nerdy Trivia winners were Team Cool Goblins in first place, the Wax Immortals in second, and Team Sora in third. Congratulations to all three teams! The weekly EMBERS prizes remain 150 for first place, 100 for second, and 50 for third. Good Wheel and Bad Wheel spins bring another layer of chaos, and being the only team to answer a question correctly earns a Good Wheel spin. Jackbox continues in the Flex Room after trivia until closing. Will we see a resurgance from team It Takes Two tomorrow evening?

Milestones and Behind the Scenes

The Testing the Waters phase of our funding round with Vicinity Ventures is officially open, and Reforged is now listed on their site. Our community helped bring us to this milestone by showing what a space like this can mean to so many different people. A dedicated post will share more about what we are building toward and how to learn more.

We are also hosting potential investor meetups on Wednesday, October 21, and Wednesday, November 11, both from 5–7 p.m. Representatives from Vicinity Ventures will join us on October 21 ahead of the round's launch. It is an opportunity to experience the lounge, meet us, and ask questions in person.

The "From The Forge" Cover and Emblem Design Contest also remains open through Tuesday, October 13. The selected artist will receive 500 EMBERS, public credit, and the opportunity to help refine the design. Entries must be original, human-created work. Send submissions to Dugan Reforged on Discord or rglteam@reforgedgaminglounge.com.
