90 days of gaming in Charleston

Hello Reforged Faithful!

Just a few days ago, Reforged Gaming Lounge reached what we hope to be the first of many milestones, this one being open and serving our communities for 90 days. In that time, we have listened, learned, and quickly implemented quite a few products and services that have had a massive net positive on the community. Here’s a brief rundown:

Bar:

  1. Our Gaming Cocktails/Mocktails

  2. Whether it’s Red vs. Blue, Dark Soul, Isle Delfino, Slurp, or many of our other craft cocktails, they have all rung true with our core audience.

  3. This is almost entirely due to Kait and Mat, our bartending duo who continue to flex their creativity and share their passions via our libations.

  4. Potions

    1. This product line was actually delayed at our launch, and didn’t get started until mid-January. That didn’t stop them from becoming our number one selling product behind the bar in less than two months though! What started as the 4 core potions; Health, Mana, Speed, and Stamina have grown to 9 potions with new additions like Fire, Ice, Love, Giant’s Milk, and the very potent Chaos potion, we truly have a potion for everyone.

  5. Mead and ciders

    1. Implementing these have led to us being able to provide exposure of niche products to our community and have found a home here at RGL. Our trio of mead and duo of Swedish ciders have tantalized taste buds and broadened the horizons of many of our guests.

  6. Brunchyroll drinks menu:

    1. We knew we wanted to start out with the classic Mimosa but also wanted to have some fun with it. Whether you want to spend your Sunday Praising, dealing with an Angry Sun, or saying Screw the Sun the core staple of brunch around the country is still at play.

    2. More fun to come as we head into warmer months!

  7. Draft beers

    1. 6 taps out of 8 have been pouring suds, with 2 more rounding out the group soon!

  8. Bottles and Canned beers

    1. Because sometimes you just want something familiar.

  9. Traditional cocktails

    1. They are classics for a reason!

Food:

  1. Brunch aka “Brunchyroll” food menu: A great example of the adage “limitation is the mother of creativity”. Being able to make small tweaks to our infrastructure allowed us to offer some fun and tasty offerings worthy of a Sunday Funday feast!

    1. Our mentality on the menu was Saturday Morning cartoons, but during brunch and on Sunday!

    2. Following that line of thought, we recently added not one or two, but six different flavors of POP TARTS to our menu that can be served hot or cold! Yes apparently, freezing POP TARTS and eating them as a frozen treat is now a thing. It’s even on the POP TART box and packages as preparation instructions!

  2. Snacks (popcorn): A big part of our business philosophy and our core goals for the lounge are to work with other local businesses and expose them to our community in meaningful ways. Our first collaboration has been reselling Mr. Poppers Gourmet Popcorn and man is it something else. Lowcountry Mix, Garlic Parmesan, Movie Time, High on the Hog, or our latest Oreo Obsession have all found an audience and we’ve been able to encourage folks to explore the full offering of flavors that Mr. Poppers has popping up just a few store fronts down from us.

Gaming:

  1. Marvel Rivals

    1. NetEase has a hit on their hands combining Marvel IP with overwatch-esque team shooter mechanics and playstyle to create something that has over 20 million players now battling it out!  This game appears to have real staying power and lots of our community members have sunk dozens of hours into climbing the ladder already.

  2. Hell Divers 2

    1. One of the only live service games in recent memory to get it right, developed by Arrowhead Studios and published by Sony. This game is clearly heavily inspired by Starship Troopers, StarCraft, and boasts some of the best 4 player co-op play I’ve experienced since Left 4 Dead 2. 4 Helldivers to the squad, insane strategem call ins, big guns, big bugs, aliens, robots with frickin laser beams, and so much it’s no wonder that this game got multiplayer game of the year at the 2024 Video Game Awards.

Hosting:

  1. Game Changers and Innovators

    1. After not finding what we wanted to see in a networking event, we decided to create one ourselves!

    2. We wanted to see a gaming and tech meetup be available multiple times a month to accommodate as many schedules as possible.

    3. Hosting this unique group in our venue gives license to allow for conversations to manifest themselves in a litany of ways.

  2. Charleston ROCs

    1. Local, small business focused networking group that likes to highlight local businesses in unique ways came through in January and explored the lounge with 50 of their members!

Coming soon:

  1. Charleston Tech Week

    1. Reforged Gaming Lounge is participating in the first ever Charleson Tech Week. We are bringing the gaming in a big way to this community! More to come on that as we lead up to May 1st.

  2. A secret meetup group

    1. NDA’d out of our minds on this one but will announce soon!

  3. Community Town hall day

    1. We want to invite everyone out to have a fireside chat with David and Chris about how the community sees things and make suggestions on how we can make things even more fun.

    2. This is your chance to pitch ideas, make suggestions for menu items, games we should add to the library, etc.

    3. TBA for April date.

As always, we thank you so much for being part of our rapidly growing community and look forward to gaming with you in the future! Thanks for reading!
